As a student, I do not see my peers using LLMs responsibly in their learning. I have a friend who preaches a very anti-AI stance however he quickly turns to or himself when he wears himself out to much complaining that a teacher used chatgpt to help with her lesson plan.
Hypocrisy
Initially I feel similar to my friend, we cannot rely on LLMs and AI. i think this is a similae mindset to imperfect. When i actually think about it i do use AI to help me learn quite often. However just like schools teach students that the calculator is a tool not a substitute for understanding math operations; AI is sinply just a very versatile tool, not a substitute for writing, or learning or researching.
How do i use ai to help me learn? Well i dont use it to write assignments for school or collate resources for a research project. I use LLMs as a tool to translate natural language and nuance into something searchable. Google probably wont understand a description of a bird but chatgpt is a tool that will.
