Blow My Brains Out by Tickle Me.
"Lucky is he who lives unaware Doesn't get bothered by those who don't care Lucky is he who lives unaware Who doesn't get bothered by all that's unfair Unlucky me who knows way too much Who fights to make changes and music and such Unlucky me, aware of the pain All 'cause I happen to have some brain"
why is it that one would assume the state of the common person is the luck state? Similarly to how common sense isnt common, why would you be unlucky for having common sense? but then thats not an analogy. Because why would we attribute the skill of both awareness and of action to mere luck? I think there are a lot of people in the world who know they can make and change things, and choose not to for one self depricating reason or another.
Or perhaps by pain you mean the pain of creating things? In which case I could fein ignorance, but maybe it is just that I wouldn't describe the effort to doing things as masochism. The pain you describe could be that of social judgement? In which I will quote the satire from Butterfingers Beautiful Music and leave little constructive response. "You've gotta suffer for your art, and let it take it's toll."
