Thoughts Of A Guy Named Mason

Circus

Why is the concept of a circus soo apealing to soo many people?

From Madilyn Mei's "A Thousand Songs About It All: Act 1". To "Welcome to the circus" By Skittish. Heck even my sister romanticises running off and joining a circus.

A circus is just a performance isnt it? Well I have written about Annoying people being performative before, whats the difference?

The intention I guess. The spectacle of the wheel of death or a random short comedy act about dogs don't rely on the misery of the audience. The subjects are voluntary and its all done in good faith?

No. What if the circus is evil?

Maybe its the scale? Or the subject? Or the flashing lights or that it is funny to everyone?

No.

Perhaps a circus performance is genuine? I don't imagine I can pinpoint the depth of a guy on stage or the kid in class who exagerates everything?

A dedicated performance is not trying to be the loudest in the room. Because it is the room.

But our other examples is just fighting for attention rather than being what it actually is.
