Thoughts Of A Guy Named Mason

Do not try using an air fryer to make churros.

When I nocked off work today I checked the clearence trolleys as I always do; out-of-date lindt chocolate that is still more expensive than in date cadbury chocolate, gum, a trolley full of bottles of out of date sprite, protien bars, and a MAKE YOUR OWN CHURROS KIT.

I got the make your own churrors kit, i made churrors. I did not have enough oil.

I did not read anything on the churrors kit, i just saw churros kit and $3 and got it. In the box was wheat flour, cinamon sugar and a shitty piping bag. this was somehow cheaper than buying the same amount of wheat flour seperately? I don't get it. But i followed the instructions and mixed everything together, I think I should have sifted the flour because it was really clumpy and took ages to make combine. I had about 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil left at home, I managed to make 2 churros before the piping bag kicked it, and about half a dozen more through the end of the zip lock bag i cut open.

I shallow fried the churros and run out of oil, I really needed more oil for it. But they where delicous, they ended up being raw on the inside so maybe I cooked them too fast? The instructions wanted the oil at 165C, and there was no way my frying pan had oil that hot in it. That doesnt make sense but whatever.

I also tried air frying one to see if that would work after I ran out of oil, It did not, what it did was dehydrate the dough and make it burning to the touch. Do not try using an air fryer to make churros.
