How I fixed my chair | Bearblog Carnival
This months bearblog carnival is hosted by tanzi and the theme is "How I __". While I don't have a guide or anything to teach I do have a story on how I fixed my chair today.
I got this chair a few months ago, specifically it is the grey executive chair from fantastic furniture, which is an Australian furniture retailer. And when I assembled it it had a horrible wobbly in the backrest and armrest that was horrendous, but all of the bolts where in properly, i didn't see how they could possible move around between the washer and the actual bolt. Except I was wrong, because aparantly you are meant to tighten them like absolute crazy.
The wobbly and play in the backrest had caused the backrest to lean back a bit too far to a point where it was uncomfortable for long periods of time, which was bad because i spend long periods of time at my desk. And today my back was sore because of it, Im 15, my back shouldnt be sore, so I had to make a change.
And after an odd half an hour of messing around and investigating with a alen key that is now bent, I discovered that spending 2 minutes tightening each bolt until you hear the internals of the chair creak makes it so that backrest has no more play. Tada, I fixed it.
Why, why would they make it need to be so tight? Whatever, its so nice having a backrest that sits up straight properly.
