Iteration Cycles

I think my general plan for the next 2 years until I've finished highschool is to complete projects with short iteration cycles. Although that will likely happen in paralell with long term projects.

So on the programming and digital side of that it mostly comes down to limiting scope, because yes there is actually a lot more actual work to do be done making a journaling app than there is create and printing a photography book.

And on the creative side of things its mostly going to be consistency with working on a project and also bringing things to completion.

So far, art generally has a much shorter iteration cycle than programming. It took 2 days of dawn to dusk working to create the prototype for my journaling app but it then took another 2 weeks of polishing and even longer to package everything into an app. I spent less than a week sequencing my photography book as a side project along with the rest of my schoolwork, and shooting photos for it was passive, i would have taken those photos anyway because photography is one of my hobbies.

Short iteration cycles also help with the dopamine hit of completing something. Along with creating something that other people can actually see and touch helps bring in motivation that can help you make more things.
