Thoughts Of A Guy Named Mason

Panasonic landline

The past few days i have been looking at designing and building my own phone. a semi-dumb / feature phone that isnt just a smartphone but worse.

Today my family and i went to a shopping center in the city, we dont do this option, i had heaps of time to kill while my mother and sister were clothes shopping so i ended up going into most stores to look around. Eventually i found myself in telstra, i was looking at phones, really just the externals, i looked at the hmc barbie phone... why. and then the telstra flip 4, that is every dumb phone in the entire store. one of the employees came other to me, we talked for about 30 seconds, laughed at why the barbie phone exists. And then i bought up that i was designing a phone for a hobby project for fun. Not long after that he offered to go check if they had any broken phones to go to ewaste that i could have to take apart and see how work, he came back with a panasonic land line handset.

And now i have a landline handset, it turns on, there is a number saved in it but i cant call anything because i dont have the base station thing for it. so i took it a part. 2 screws and some clips and the back comes off, good job panasonic.

and the single screw holding the board in is the same type of screw as the ones on the outside. again, good job panasonic.

and now to figure out how a landline works and what this chip is...
