Broken families are normalised these days, I have friends who call both their birth parents 'sperm donor' and 'egg donor' because he hasnt seen them since he was a toddler.
I have been told it is weird that I dont constantly fight with my sister? As if siblings fighting is normal?
That means there are people in the world who get harassed and assaulted by the people who are meant to stand by them.
I know 2 people who have had someone try to kill them and tried to kill someone themselves. They joke about this as if its normal.
I feel the laughter is masking trauma.
And this is all happening in a place with a higher than average socio economic status on earth.
there are people who wake up each day wondering if there is even enough food in their village to feed everyone.
There are people who have their towns water supplies drained by multinational companies bottling it and selling it to the western world.
Their are people who grow up illiterate
People that don't have an education or the knowlledge to know how much better their life could be.
There are people who live under suppression, in places without access to the wider world - I cant imagine living like this, but at a glance it could be seen as a heaven rather than whatever this is.
And lastly - and least importantly - there are people who sit in their bedroom late at night, scared after watching a fucking tv show spending their time stressing over the relatively meanial things such as will I have a good day tomorow?
